What do I need?

Switching to Real Nappies is a lot simpler than many people realise. Although there are many different nappies out there, the basics stay the same.

You will need:

1. The Nappy - These include both simple 'flat' nappies, such as terry squares, and the more modern shaped nappies. Some shaped nappies come in a couple of different sizes and some are 'Birth to Potty', which means they should fit most babies right up to potty training.

2. The Wrap - This is the outer layer and will hold the wet inside. There are many different wraps available, some of which will be better suited to certain nappies than others.

3. The Liner - This is generally either fleece (washable) or paper (disposable) and is used as a 'stay dry' layer which goes between the nappy and baby's bottom.

4. The Fastener -  This is what will hold the nappy in place. There are 3 main types - Nappi Nippas, Poppers and Velcro/Aplix. Many nappies will come with either Popper or Aplix fastenings, and those that don't will usually require a Nappi Nippa.

Some nappies will come with all 4 things already combined, whereas with other nappy systems you will need to buy all 4 things separately. (If you are not sure what you need, feel free to give me a call or send me an email).

In addition to the above items you will want to consider the following items:

Nappy Pail, Nappy Mesh, Washable Wipes, Wet Bag (for out and about) and Boosters (for heavy wetters and overnight nappies), all of which are available on the Accessories page.
